Overview While downloading data from your financial institution using Quicken for Mac, you may receive the following message: The attempt to download from this institution has failed (2001 The parameters provided to this api are not valid (key=accountID)). Please try again later. Cause This issue can be caused by accounts in Quicken being activated for Quicken Connect, but no longer exist on the Quicken servers. This condition can occur if the accounts are deactivated, and then you open a copy of the file, or restore a backup of the file where the accounts were still activated. Quicken will attempt to connect to the accounts on the server, and if they are not there, it will return the above error.
To resolve this error, you will need to deactivate and reactivate your accounts. Deactivating The Affected Accounts:.
Click on the account name for your account(s) in the Accounts toolbar in Quicken. Click the Settings icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. Under the At Your Financial Institution section, click on Troubleshooting. Click on Deactivate Downloads. Click Save.
Repeat the above steps for each account, until they are all deactivated. Reactivating The Accounts for Online Update:. Select Accounts menu New Account Type.

Answer any security questions, etc required by your bank to sign in, and click Continue. Hi Kevin, Judging from the error message, you need to activate your account for direct-connect access. Some banks charge a fee for this service, so read through any agreements. Log onto the Chase Website. Look for the Customer Center. At the Customer Center, look for a link to activate Quicken, Quickbooks, etc. You may also need to confirm your ID through an email in your Secure Inbox at the Chase site. Chase has also been updating their website.

I have three Chase credit cards, one for my wife and two for me. Everything was working fine until late last year; and then it started throwing me the server error. I tried everything I could think of; checked my settings on Chase, turned off online banking and set it up again, deleted the connection and set it up again, checked passwords and more but nothing worked. I called Chase and they said they only support Quicken and if I wasn't using Quicken, they wouldn't even talk to me or lift a finger to help.
I have to manually download transactions and import them. Hi retail, You should be able to get one Chase Credit Card to download thru direct-connect with prior versions of Moneydance. I can successfully connect to one Chase Credit Card account with MD 2011 and MD 2012. The way that I understand what has happened with Chase is that they changed to OFX ver. 103 from 102. In doing so, they now require a separate ClientUID for each account accessed by MD, whereas they only used to require one ClientUID for all of your accounts accessed by MD. Something else to look out for is that you will likely need to confirm your ID through a message in your Secure Inbox at the Chase site.
MD 2015 resolved this whole matter by apparently providing multiple ClientUIDs for those sites that require them, ala Chase. HTH -Kevin N.
